Since qualifying as a Psychologist in 2004, she has specialised within the area of Problem gambling. She has worked for the National Problem Gambling clinic and works currently both with gambling addiction in private practice and also within the community running a group for homeless problem gamblers in Westminster. She has published research and a book chapter on the topic of gambling addiction and she frequently reviews journal papers on the topic for academic journals. She has extensive experience working with the full range of gambling addiction ranging from traders whom have become emotional about their gambling, to individuals with severe and enduring mental illness which drives the gambling behaviour.
In recent years she has also broadened her work to involve other behavioural addictions such as internet addiction and sex addiction.
She also enjoys working with anxiety disorders and stress management.
Apart from her private practice Annika also works part-time for Guy's and St Thomas's where she set up and runs a CBT service for staff within the Occupational health department.
Annika sees clients in her practice in Marylebone, London and can also consult people internationally via SKYPE/Phone.
Annika accepts most major insurances including BUPA, CIGNA, ALLIANZ and WPA however no longer takes AXA PPP.
