Annika is a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and with the British Psychological Society
Since qualifying as a Psychologist in 2004, she has specialised within the area of Problem gambling.
Having first lived in Vegas for 3 years where she conducted research on Gambling addiction she then returned to the UK in 2009 and was part of the small team of Psychologists and Psychiatrists that worked at National Problem Gambling clinic in London UK when they opened in 2009. Currently she works with gambling addiction in private practice and also within the community running groups for homeless problem gamblers in homeless shelters in Westminster.
She has published research and a book chapter on the topic of gambling addiction and she frequently reviews journal papers on the topic for academic journals. She has extensive experience working with the full range of gambling addiction ranging from traders whom have become emotional about their gambling, to individuals with severe and enduring mental illness which drives the gambling behaviour.
Annika also enjoys working with other behavioural addictions such as gaming disorders, sex addiction as well as anxiety disorders, stress management and relationship problems.
Between the years of 2012 and 2018 she set up and ran the first staff CBT service at Guy's and St Thoma's hospital.
Annika sees clients in her practice in Marylebone, London and can also consult people internationally
Annika accepts most major insurances including CIGNA, ALLIANZ, AVIVA and WPA however no longer takes Bupa & AXA PPP.
